Betties, do yourself a favor this year and let it all hang out. Let the robe hit the floor! It’s a new year, and that means… TIME TO LET YOUR TRUE BEAUTY BE SEEN! On January 29, we have our favorite resident painting instructor, Bux Dhyne, coming into the studio and giving us a crash course on two things we love here at Mod Bettie: art and nudity!
Bux Dhyne is a full-time artist with a Master’s in Fine Arts Painting and a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts Illustration. In other words, they know what they’re doing with every brush stroke. So what can you expect? Bux says, “as far as the class goes it's about being creative and celebrating our bodies. Leave expectations and egos at the door. Anyone can do it but it might not be exactly what you expect.” INTRIGUING! Sounds like a great time to try something new!
Join us with your curves on Curve street at our downtown location. You’ll be painting a portrait of your own body landscape, taken by Mod Bettie that night! Come ready to shop at NB, because your ticket gives you 15% off all merch for the evening. So first you get an intimate session with Mod Bettie herself, then you get instructed on how to paint a portrait of your own body by Bux!
There is absolutely no pressure to be hair and make-up ready. This ain’t about your face, Betties! It’s about your body. Best part? BYOB! Bring your own Bettie, body, and beverage! Perhaps you’ll bring a tasteful moscato. Or maybe you’re more of a dark red. Whatever you want! You don’t need to bring wine. If you like beer, bring beer! If you like rum, bring rum! If you like water, bring water!
We’ll be shopping and shooting from 5-7, then painting and sipping from 7-9. For privacy reasons, this event is limited only to female identified and non-binary individuals who are comfortable in a female identified space.
