Grab those dollar bills and get ready to hoot and holler as we introduce our resident goddess of tease, Maid Marian!
This queen tassel twirler, started doing burlesque in 2012 and co-founded the burlesque troupe, the Danger Damsels Burlesque. Performing all over Grand Rapids and West Michigan with them until 2015 when she launched her solo career.
As a lover of all things flirty and fabulous, I can honestly say that the first time I saw Maid Marian perform in 2014 at the Miss Skin Deep pinup contest, I was completely in awe. Marian was walking around backstage with a robe embroidered with her name on it. I was starstruck. A few years later our paths crossed again and I love to tell the story of how I sat admiring her trying to figure out how to befriend her. Who knew it would be over vibrator crafts?
Since her first glove peel, Marian has performed at various venues around Michigan and with renowned burlesquers like Angie Pontani and Red Rum! She has also posed for Dr. Sketchy Art School and numerous Mod Bettie and Naughty Bettie events.
You can even add a private performance and instruction class by Maid Marian to your Naughty Bettie event. We think this is perfect for Betties to Be so they can learn a few moves and delight their forever-partners on their wedding night!
In 2016, Maid Marian joined the vaudevillian troupe, The Frivolous Folies and has been on the board of directors since 2018. Through her partnership with the Follies, Marian is able to not only showcase her expertise of the art of tease but her beautiful singing voice, too! This talented B just doesn’t quit!
Her next endeavor is making her dreams of empowering others and their dreams with burlesque come true by offering classes and workshops.
Marian loves how burlesque helps women of all shapes and sizes gain body neutrality. Her ultimate goal is to share this source of empowerment and confidence with the West Michigan community. Join her and Naughty Bettie on Friday August 27th for Burlesque Bettie! This class is for all bodies and abilities! Attendees will need to bring a plain button-up shirt, thigh highs ( available for purchase at Naughty Bettie). Wear something or buy something that night to wear under your button-up. Her personal journey began with Mod B in 2015 when she answered a model call and was thrust directly into the path of modeling. She has been published internationally both as a model and a writer and has modeled for various clothing companies and fashion shows. Nicholette is a performer, slingin’ glitter and singing pretty! She is also an educator and public speaker.
Nicholette’s passion is to encourage all people to love and embrace themselves, exactly as they are.
